In Calgary, my company is standing at the edge of something larger than any of us imagined. We are expanding our horizons. But before we could move outward, we had to look inward first. The hardest work happened long before anyone saw it.

We were a cooperative in name. In practice, we were individuals. Each carried their own doubts. Few saw their own worth. Fewer still saw our strength together.

I stopped asking people to follow. I started showing them what they were part of. The conversation changed. Slowly, so did we. The group began to trust the group.

The potential of a group yields better reward than the whims of the self.

Something settled once they believed it. The doubts did not vanish, but they no longer led. I watched people who once worked alone begin to work as one. It did not feel loud. It felt certain.

Together, we became more than ourselves.

Leadership is not the loudest voice in the room. It is the patience to convince people of what they already hold. Today I stand ready to lead this organization into its next phase of growth — not by carrying it, but by trusting it.
