Bulova

The first watch on television.

Their origin storyThe Arrival

In 1875, Joseph Bulova, a young immigrant from Bohemia, opened a small jewellery shop in New York.

His company went on to air the first national radio ad in 1926. Then, on July 1, 1941, the first day commercials were allowed on American television, Bulova ran the first TV commercial ever, before a Brooklyn Dodgers game. It cost a few dollars and simply showed the time.

In 1960 came Accutron, the world’s first fully electronic watch. Its technology went on to serve the U.S. space program.
